Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted meaning

in class there are 30 student but 10 are of use other are useless , so they can be counted but count for nothing .
other half says things which are meaningful sometimes cant be counted , like happiness is meaningfull but can not be counted

There exist some abstract ideas like love,affection,happiness etc. These have no specific values and can't be counted and many a times these are the only things that count than the material things ....
