there are a lot of festivals which celebrate in India.. there are sikh, jainism, Hinduism, muslims and Christians. Each religion has different festivals..

Hinduism festivals.
Hinduism are considered as the oldest organized religion of the world. Each hindu festival celebrates with a special ritual like the act of worship, offerings to deities, offering Ganga Jal, fasting, bathing in Ganga jal in early morning, feasting, Dakshina, Puja, Katha, Aarti and so many. There is no distinction of castes, gender and age..
Holi, Diwali, Dussahra, etc are some festivals of Hinduism.

Muslims festival.
Islamic festivals are celebrated all over the world. some the most important festivals are Ramadan, Eid-ul-fitr, bakr-eid, etc which they celebrate in special ways such as by praying in mosques, fasting, etc. Islam was founded by the spiritualist Muhammad around the 7th century which has now become the 2nd largest religion. The Islam has five most significant Pillars such as “Shahadah (Faith), Salah (Prayer), Zakah (Donate), Sawm (Fasting) and Hajj (Pilgrimage)”
The holy book of islam is "Quran".

Sikhism festivals.
peoples of sikh religion have a lots of unique and rituals festival which they celebrate with full courage and enjoyment. some hindu festivals are also celebrated by sikh religion having different reasons of celebration. the holy book of sikhism, called “the Guru Granth Sahib” which was first compiled by the Sikh guru, Guru Nanak.
Lohri, Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti, Guru Nanak Jayanti, etc are some festivals of sikhism.

jainism festivals.
peoples from jain religion also have a lot of rituals to be celebrated as festivals. Their rituals are divided into two parts named, karya and kriya. there are six obligatory duties called Six Avashyakas which are “Chaturvishnati-stava: praising Tirthankaras, Kayotsarga: meditation, Pratikramana: expiation of past sins, Pratyakhyana: renunciation of anything, Samyika: practising serenity and meditation and Vandan: respecting teachers and ascetics”.
Mahavir jayanti is the main festival of jainism.

Christian festivals.
People of the Christian religion celebrate their festivals like Christmas, Easter, Good Friday, etc with fun filled activities. peoples from other regions also involve in Christian festival which proves 'the unity in diversity in India'.

Christmas is the festival which is generally celebrate all over the world..
