1. Stock index :  

Stock index is a measure of the movement of prices of a selected basket of Company stock over a  time with same base year.

Stock index can be calculated by the following three methods :  

  • Price weighted index
  • Equal weighted index.
  • Value weighted index

 

2. The conclusion we can draw from the various movements of NSE Stock indices that all the indices are following the same pattern. It indicates bearish phase which signifies that there are more sellers than buyers.

 

3. The following factors affect the movement of stock indices :  

  • Growth of the economy
  • Accounting results of the company
  • Policies of the government
  • Global market trends

 

4. Indian financial market and global markets are following the same trends due to the transfer of Investments.
