Answer:

let the numerator be x and denominator

be y

According to the question

x = y-6......... (1)

x+3/y = 2/3 ..... (2)

substitute eqn (1) in (2)

y-6+3/y = 2/3

y-3/y = 2/3

3y-9 = 2y

y = 9. ........ (3)

subst eqn (3) in (1)

x = 9-6

x=3

Step-by-step explanation:

given,

let numerator be x

let denominator be y

numerator of a fraction is 6 less = x-6

denominator if 3 added to the numerator = y+3

so the fraction = 2/3

x-6/y+3= 2/3

x-6(3)=y+3(2)

3x-18= 2y+6

3x-2y=18+6

3x-2y= 24

3x-2y-24=0
