OBJECTIVE PHYSICS IA
A bucket filled with water weighing 20 kg is raised from a well of depth 20m. If the linear density of
the rope is 0.2kg per meter, the amount of work done is, (g = 10ms) (in J)

Weight of bucket + Rope of length x=m=20+0.2x

Work done in raising the rope+bucket by depth dx=dW=mg(dx)

Integrating both sides from x=0m to x=20m

⇒W=∫_{0}²⁰

(20+0.2x)(10)(dx)

⇒W=4000+400=4400J
