Solid hydrated barium hydroxide mixed with solid ammonium chloride in a beaker will produce ammonia gas and the liquid temperature drops dramatically to about -20 °C. Thus the reaction is highly endothermic. You get a stinking mess. Ammonia gas will come visit your nostrils and clear you sinuses.
