(i). Element A and E belong to the same group .

(ii). Element B and D belong to the same period .

  • Elements whose numbers of valence electrons are same , belong to same group . Here , in A and E , number of valence electrons are same that is 1.
  • Elements which have same valence shells are belong to same period .
