Often parents have to be firm and strict with their children. Give reasons
justifying in the light of the story ‘His First Flight
Answers
Parents need to ensure that their children are brought up the right way and hence are forced to be strict with them on many occasions.
In the story 'His First Flight', the parents turn a blind eye to the young seagull only to push him to start flying. If the little bird did not learn how to fly, it would not have survived for long.
Similarly, parents teach children skills and habits to equip the children for a better future. In doing so, they sometimes sound too strict and authoritative, but they do not have an option. For instance, many toddlers do not like to eat vegetables. If parents do not interfere, the child will end up with many deficiencies and have a difficult life as an adult. So each meal may be unpleasant and the parents may need to behave in a dictatorial way, but in the end, it benefits the children. Therefore, parental strictness should never be misunderstood as meanness.
