There are actually 130 miles between the two towns on a map.

Concept used :

  • In this question, we have to convert the given inches into miles by dividing inches by 20.
  • Here on a map, 1 inch = 20 miles

Given : On a map,1 inch = 20 miles

Distance between two towns on a map = 6.5 inches

To find: Miles between the two towns

Solution:

Step1:

Write the given statement :

Distance between two towns in inches on a map = 6.5

Step 2: Multiply the given inches by 20:

Distance between two towns in miles on a map = 6.5 × 20 = 130 miles

[Given - 1 inch = 20 miles]

Hence the distance between the two towns is 130 miles.
