on a sheet of graph paper, using a scale of 1 cm to represent 1 unit on the x-axis and 1 cm to represent 2 units on the y-axis draw the graph of each of the following functions for values of x from 0 to 4
1. y =2x+8
2. y =2x + 2
3. y= 2x - 3
iv y = 2x -6

Answer:

Linear Functions

Step-by-step explanation:

  • A graph can be defined as the pictorial representation of that represents any given data in a chronological manner that is ascending to descending type.

  • There are four types of Graphs. They are:

1) Bar graph

2) Line graph

3) Histogram graph

4) Pie charts

  • A linear function are the functions which has a graph with the straight line in a coordinate plane.
  • It has one independent function and a dependent variable.
  • The independent variable is called as x and the dependent variable is called y.

Given that:

draw the graph of each of the following functions for values of x from 0 to 4 for the linear functions.

1. y =2x+8

Solution:

Here x = 1

Y = 2(1)+8

Y= 2+8

Y = 10

2. y =2x + 2

Solution:

Here x=2

Y= 2(2) +2

Y=4+2

Y=6

3. y= 2x – 3

Solution:

Here x = 3

Y = 2(3) -3

Y= 6-3

Y=3

4. y = 2x -6

Solution:

Here x=4

Y = 2(4) -6

Y= 8-6

Y=2
