hello users ....

Question :-On selling an exhaust fan for Rs.7350 a man gains 1/6 of its cost price . Find the cost price of the fan.

Solution :-

the selling price of the fan is =7350

let the C.p of fan is = x

and the gain on selling the fan= 1/6 th of the C.p is = x/6

now

C.p = S.p - gain = 7350 - x/6

=> x= 7350 -x/6

=>6x=44100 -x

=>7x= 44100

=> x=44100/7=6300 = cost price of fan

hence C.P of fan =6300 answer

hope it helps ....

\huge{Given}

On selling an exhaust fan for rupees 7350 Rs., a man gains 1/6 of its cost price.

\huge{To\: Find}

The cost price of fan.

\huge{Solution}

Let the Cost Price (C.P.) be 'x'

Then, gain made by the person

= 1/6 of C.P.

= 1/6 × x

= x/6

Now,

Selling price (S.P.) = C.P. + gain

=> S.P = x + x/6

=> S.P. = (6x+x)/6

=> S.P. = 7x/6

But, S.P. = 7350 Rs.

Hence, both are equal.

=> 7x/6 = 7350

=> 7x = 7350 × 6

=> 7x = 44100

=> x = 44100/7

=> x = 6300

Hence, the C.P. of fan is

\boxed{\bold{\mathcal{\blue{6300 \:Rs.}}}}
