"The extent of Akbar's empire was from Bengal in the east to Kabul in the west and from Vindhyas in the south to Kashmir in the north. He first conquered Malwa, followed by Chunar, Gondwana and Rajasthan.

He annexed kingdoms not just through wars but also through imperial treaties and marriage alliances. He respected the smaller kings under his empire and ensured just rule for all.
