Robinson Crusoe met the man Friday on the same day of the week. Previosuly he did not know the man and hence could not summon him.
To make it simple he started calling him by the name of the day in the week when he first met him.
It is one of the main character of novel Robinson Crusoe written by Daniel Defoe.
