One day, I happened to overhear two miners talking about a great School some where in Virginia. This was the first time that I had ever heard anything about any kind of school that was more pretentious than the little school in our town.As they went on describing the school it seemed to me at that it must be the greatest place on the Earth not even Heaven presented more attraction for me at that time than this school in Virginia I resolved at once to go to that school.

We had very little money by walking begging rides both in wagons and in cars after a number of days, I reached Virginia.When I reached there tired hungry, it was late in night I was completely out of money and we didn't know where to go I asked at several places for lodging,but they all wanted money knowing nothing these better to do I walked the streets till midnight at last I became so exhausted that I could walk no longer. I slept for the night on the ground in the street. The next morning I found myself some what refreshed but I was extremely hungry I noticed that I was near a cage ship which was unloading a cargo pig iron . I went near the vessel to got money for my breakfast my work seemed to be a kind hearted Consented I work long enough to get money for my breakfast my work based so well that he told me I could continue working for a small amount per day.i continued working in this vessel till I had saved enough money to reach my destination.
How her admitting other students,and that added greatly to my discomfort after some hours have passed the head teacher said to me,”The adjoining recitation room needs sweeping.Take the broom and sweep it.” It cuned to me at once that here was my chance, never did I receive an order with more delight I swept the presentation room three times,Then I got dusting cloth and I dusted four times
Then I was through I reported it to the head teacher She was finicky women who knew just where to look for dirt. she went in the room and inspected the floor and closets when she was unable to finds a bit of dirt on floor or a particle of dust on any of the furniture she quietly remarked.
