let number be x
the second number is 3x

after adding 15 to both numbers
first number is x+15
second number is 3x+15

according to question(A.T.Q)
2(x+15) = 3x=15
2x+30 = 3x=15
30-15 = 3x-2x
x = 15
3x = 45
the numbers are 15 and 45

\small{\sf{One~number~is~15~and~the~other~number~is~45}}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

  • One number is 3 times another number. If 15 is added to both the numbers, then one of the new number becomes twice the other new number.

To find :

  • Value of numbers

Solution :

Let the one is x. if one number is x then according to the question, another number will be 3x

Hence, the numbers are : x and 3x

[Now, given that 15 are added to both numbers then one of new number become twice the another.]

Adding 15 in both numbers :

  • x = x+15
  • 3x = 3x +15

According to the question :

2(x+15) = 3x + 15

⇒2x + 30 = 3x + 15

⇒2x - 3x = 30 - 15

⇒ x = 15

Hence,

\small{\boxed{\green{\sf{One ~number~ is~15}}}}

And,

\small{\boxed{\green{\sf{Another~number~is~15×3=45}}}}
