Let the other number be 5x

Their sum is 90


According to the question,

5x + x = 90

➾ 6x = 90

➾ x = 15


∴ One number ➾ x

∴ Another number ➾ 5x

➾ 5 × 15

Verification :-

(i) 5x + x = 90

➾ 6x = 90

By putting the value of x,

➾ 6 × 15 = 90

➾ 90 = 90

∴ LHS = RHS✔✔


(ii) One number + Another number = Their Sum

➾ 15 + 75 = 90

➾ 90 = 90

∴LHS = RHS✔✔
