Hi ,

let the smaller number = x

second number = x + 5

according to the problem given,

six times the smaller is equal to 5 times the

larger number

6x = 5( x + 5 )

6x = 5x + 25

6x - 5x = 25

x = 25

Therefore ,

Required numbers are

smaller number = x = 25

second number = x + 5 = 25 + 5 = 30

i hope this helps you.

Let the smaller number = x
Then, the second number will be = x + 5

ATQ,

Six times the smaller is equal to 5 times the larger number.

Now, make the equation: i.e
6x = 5( x + 5 )
6x = 5x + 25
6x - 5x = 25
x = 25

Now we know x = 25

∴ Smaller number = x = 25  ← (Answer)
∴ Second number = x + 5 = 30 ← (Answer)
