Let the vertical angle be x

=> Base angle = 2x

Since it's an isosceles triangle, taking base angles as equal, the other base angle would also be 2x.


We know that the sum of angles of a ∆ is 180°

=> 2x + 2x + x = 180°

=> 5x = 180°

=> x = 180/5

=> x = 36°

Hence, vertical angle = 36°

Given BC > AB by 3 and BC < AC by 2

=> AC > BC > AB

Hence, AC is the greatest side.

=> BC = AB + 3

and, BC = AC - 2

=> AB + 3 = AC - 2

=> AB = AC - 2 - 3

=> AB = AC - 5

and, BC = AC - 2

Perimeter = 53 cm

=> AB + BC + AC = 53 cm

=> AC - 5 + AC - 2 + AC = 53 cm

(since, AB = AC - 5 and BC = AC - 2)

=> 3AC - 7 = 53

=> 3AC = 53 + 7

=> 3AC = 60 cm

=> AC = 60/3

=> AC = 20 cm.
