He is considerate and promises not to disturb the Kangaroo with his chatter, but sit quietly on the Kangaroo's back. He is resourceful, and when the Kangaroo objects to his wet and cold feet, he buys worsted socks and a cloak to keep warm. The Duck is envious of the Kangaroo's ability to hop off and see the world.
