Answer:

S1 + S3  =  \frac{n}{2} (n + 1) +  \frac{n}{2} (3n  - 1) \\  =  \frac{n}{2} (n + 1 + 3n - 1) \\  =  \frac{n}{2} (4n) \\  = 2 {n}^{2}  \\  = 2S2

Hence proved
