Here a = 25, b = -k , c = 9....

For a quadratic equation to have equal roots.... value of b² -4ac must be equal to 0....

So putting all values.....

(-k)² -4(25)(9) = 0

(-k)² -900 = 0

k² = 900

k = +√900 or k = -√900 ( its important to remember)

So k = 30 or -30

So 25x² - kx +9 = 0 will have equal roots when k = 30 or -30...
