In Glycolysis, Glucose is broken down to two Molecules of Pyruvic Acid. Now there are three possible ways:

In absence of Oxygen, Lactic acid fermentation will start, Pyruvic acid will be converted to Lactic Acid.

In absence of Oxygen, In some organisms like yeast, Pyruvic acid is broken to Alcohol instead of Lactic acid.

With Oxygen is present, Pyruvic Acid is converted to Acetyl CoA and then Entered to Krebs Cycle for Complete Oxidation .

Hence, Oxygen is necessary for complete oxidation of Glucose.

hope it helps u if yes then please mark me as brainliest..................

Here's the answer

When glucose is completely oxidised in aerobic respiration, it produces 38 molecules of ATP.

In cellular respiration, three processes take place one after the other. They are Glycolysis , Krebs cycle and election transfer chain reaction.

In absence of oxygen , Glycolysis can occur only but other further reaction will not take place.

If Glycolysis occurs in the absence of oxygen, it produces alcohol. By anaerobic Glycolysis, only 2 molecules of ATP are produced. This results in less energy supply to the body.

Therefore, Oxygen is necessary for complete oxidation of glucose.
