p^4-(p+q)^4

use formula
a^2-b^2=(a-b)(a+b)

{p^2}^2-{(p+q)^2}^2

=(p^2-(p+q)^2)(p^2+(p+q)^2)

=(p^2-p^2-q^2-2pq)(2p^2+q^2+2pq)

=-(q^2+2pq)(2p^2+q^2+2pq)
