given p(x)=4x^2+9x+5
4x^2+4x+5x+5
4x(x+1)+5(x+1)
4x+5=0 or x+1=0
x=-5/4 orx=-1
these are the zero of the polynomial

Solution :

Given p(x) = 4x² + 9x + 5

Let p(x) = 0

=> 4x² + 9x + 5 = 0

Splitting the middle term, we get

=> 4x² + 4x + 5x + 5 = 0

=> 4x( x + 1 ) + 5( x + 1 ) = 0

=> ( x + 1 )( 4x + 5 ) = 0

x + 1 = 0 or 4x + 5 = 0

x = -1 or x = -5/4

Therefore ,

-1 , -5/4 are two zeroes of given

quadratic polynomial p(x).
