Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was imprisoned many times by the British. Many people opposed him even Indians as they didn't like his policy of non violence and satyagraha. But he did not give up. He campaigned for the acceptance of the untouchables. He called them "Harijans" or the children of God. He looked upon women as mothers and he also won over the women.

I hope this will help you.

Gandhiji was one of the leading political personalities during our freedom war with the British rulers.

He and his followers had faced a lot of challenges during the freedom war.Some of them are;

1)The British rulers were very cruel.They brutally killed all the people who participate in the freedom fight at that time.

2)The national unity and integrity was very weak at that time which was also a major problem.

3)Many freedom fighters and leaders didn't agree with the non-violent way of freedom fight which was initiated by the Gandhiji.
