Many people made great discoveries one way or another. You don’t have to be a brilliant scientist to make discoveries, just a bit of brain-powered and common sense. Great discoveries are made when it benefits or helps mankind and out world. Whenever a scientist or someone discovers something such as a way for people to live longer or to make trash less scattered all over the place, now that is a great discovery.
I know that not all discoveries are great or helpful to mankind and our world, which is true. For example, the discovery of the nuclear bomb, I don’t see how that helps our world. Only destroys it, and kill many lives. Great discoveries are remembered all throughout history and many times, it is later used to help us. Not all discoveries are perfect, there has to be at least one mistake, However, later we learn from that mistake and make better discoveries.
Many times, a great discovery doesn’t happen overnight, it usually takes quite a while for a person to figure it out. Although you must have enough information to prove your theory true or else your discovery wouldn’t be correct.
Sometimes, a great discovery is made by luck or it happened by chance. Often, you may have not known you made a great discovery unless it hits you on the head, often literally. For example, when Sir Isaac Newton made a great discover, gravity! I mean when the apple hit him on the head when he sat under the apple tree, then he knew gravity existed.
Great discoveries happen every now and then, there are so many more things waiting to be discovered. Who knows, maybe one day, you’ll make a great discovery yourself.
