Fickle minded people are easily influenced. They have low self-esteem and are ready to see themselves through other people's eyes. This character often leads them to trouble.
The nightingale was impressed with the frog when he bragged about himself as being a great musician and critic. She tried to get into his good books. For that she was ready to do anything, including working too hard for her own good. She was very foolish to believe that her song was not all that good and he, as a veteran singer, can train her. The nightingale was unable to see what the other animals in the bog saw in the frog, because she was a fickle minded creature. So at last she died, trying to please the frog, thus helping him to regain his unrivaled position in the bog.
