Paragraph Writing :-

Sehnai is a musical instrument similar to pungi , It is a pipe with a natural hollow stem that is longer and broader . It also has seven holes on it's body . When it is played by the closing and opening of some of the holes , it produces soft and melodious music .

It was traditionally played in royal courts , temples and weddings . Bismillah Khan ( a famous musician ) changed this by improvising and creating rages that were earlier considered to be beyond the range of Sehnai .

The sound of Sehnai is considered as most auspicious sound in classical music . That's why it is still played in temples in North India . It is mostly played in weddings .It is said that every wedding is incomplete without the sound of Sehnai .

It is very important in Indian classical music . It is a indispensable part of North India .
