parents commitin female infanticide deserve death penalty ...can i hav sme ideas for or against d topic?

female infanticide is usually caused due to poverty and also our orthodox views. killing girl child is a heinous crime and severe punishment needs to be given to the guilty but death penalty is not the solution.
girl child killing is either due to poverty or due to the thoughts. 
if we are going to kill the parents what will be the difference between them and us?
we need to change the thoughts of our society, though it is not going to be very easy we can definitely try changing our society's thoughts. poverty is the other reason for girl child killing.
if the government lays down certain rules as well as gives certain compensations to families having a girl child, this may reduce  to an extenet
