20 cuboids are needed to form a cube

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

parikshit makes a cubiod of platmic of sides 5cm , 2cm ,5cm .

To find :-

How many such cubiods will be need to from a cube?

Solution :-

Given that

Measurements of the cuboid which is made by Parikshit are 5 cm , 2 cm and 5 cm

Let the length of the cuboid = (l) = 5 cm

Let the breadth of the cuboid = (b) = 2 cm

Let the height of the cuboid = (h) = 5 cm

We know that

Volume of a cuboid (V) = lbh cubic units

=> Volume of the given cuboid

=> 5×2×5 cubic cm

=> 50 cubic cm

Volume of one cuboid = 50 cm³

Now , We know that

If the all sides are equal in the cuboid are equal then it is a cube.

So the factors of 5 and 2 are not in the group of three numbers

Required numbers = 2,2,5

Volume =( 5×2×5)×(2×2×5)

=> V = 1000 cm³

So we multiply 50 with 20 then we get cube.

So required cuboids = 20

Let the edge of a cube be a cm

Volume of a cube = a³ cubic cm

We know that

If one solid is converted into another solid then the volumes of both solids are equal.(doesn't change).

=> a³ = 1000

=> a³ = 10³

=> a = 10 cm

Answer:-

Required cuboids to need a cube for the given problem is 20

The edge of the cube is 10 cm

Used formulae:-

  • Volume of a cuboid (V) = lbh cubic units

  • Volume of a cube = a³ cubic cm

  • l = length

  • b = breadth

  • h = height

  • a = edge of a cube

  • If one solid is converted into another solid then the volumes of both solids are equal.(doesn't change).

  • If the all sides are equal in the cuboid are equal then it is a cube.
