The farmers of Tamil Nadu, who have been suffering from the dispute on distribution of water of River Cauvery, for a number of years now, have once again decided to go on a hunger strike.

The farmers have demanded that they require adequate water for their summer crops else they will not be able to come out of their debts and suicidal incidents and have demanded the formation of Cauvery Management Board.

The supervisory committee has assured them that they will look into the matter and sufficient water shall be provided to them during summers and matters shall be resolved soon by the authority and despite Karnataka not in favor, the committee has been formulated.
