Pendulum a has frequency 3 hz and B has 2 hz.

Frequency = Total oscillations / Total Time

Pendulum A

15 oscillations in 5 seconds (Given)

Number of oscillations in 1 second will be -

= 15/5

= 3 Hz

Thus, frequency = 2.8 Hz

Pendulum B

8 oscillations in 4 seconds (Given)

Number of oscillations in 1 second will be -

= 8/4

= 2 Hz

Frequency = 2 Hz

Therefore, Pendulum A has a higher frequency

Pendulum A has greater frequency then pendulum B.

Explanation:

We are given two pendulums moving at different oscillations and different time periods are given and we need to find out the frequency of each pendulum and which pendulum has greater frequency for which we need to apply the formula of frequency which is the quotient of the number of oscillations and time taken.

  • Let us take the first pendulum A, frequency is equal to \frac{15}{5} =3 hertz.
  • Now for the second pendulum B, frequency is equal to \frac{8}{4} = 2 hertz.

Hence we now know, that pendulum A has greater frequency then pendulum B.
