Answer :-

• Plants play a very important role on Earth.

• They can be considered as the reason why all living organisms can survive on Earth.

• Plants purify as they release oxygen in the atmosphere through the process of photosynthesis.

• The oxygen is used by animals and plants during respiration.

• Plants have a unique ability of using carbon dioxide (released as a result of respiration and by burning fuels) during the process of photosynthesis.

• For this reason forests and plants are called ‘green lungs’ or ‘lungs of the earth’.

• Hence, we can conclude that Plants are the Lungs of Earth.

Answer:

                               PLANTS: THE LUNGS OF EARTH

Plants are known as the lungs of the earth for the following reasons:-

  1. Firstly, plants are the sole reason behind the existence of living beings around the globe. Plants produce oxygen which we breathe in and live.
  2. Plants absorb the toxic gases in the atmosphere to help us breathe the fresh air.
  3. Plants naturally purify the air around us making the surroundings livable.
  4. We breathe out carbon dioxide, which is absorbed by the plants, and in return, trees give us oxygen through the process of photosynthesis.

Thus, it is safe to conclude that Plants are indeed the lungs of the earth.
