plastic:a synthetic material made from a wide range of organic polymers such as polyethylene, PVC, nylon, etc., that can be moulded into shape while soft, and then set into a rigid or slightly elastic form.
merits:
1 They are light in weight.
2 They are strong,good and cheap to produce.
3 They are unbreakable
4 Used to make - Water bottles, pens, plastic bags, cups etc.
5 They are corrosion resistant.
6 They are chemical resistant
demerits:
1.They produce toxic fumes when burnt.
2.They are low heat resistant.
3.They are non biodegradable.
4. They harm the environment.
5. The recycling of plastic is not cost effective
