see when we say A intersection B it means only those elements which are common in both sets will be counted so if A has 3 and B has 6 elements it means that a and b can max have 3 elemts in common and these 3 are all present in a.
if you say union it means that all unique elements from.both sets must be counted and not the common ones so if A has 3 and B has 6 it means they can have all 3 and 6 elemts different and so A U B can have max. 9 elements in union solve in same manner for minimum values
