Hi!

Here is the answer to your question.

The given equation is Acos2θ + B cos2θ + C = 0

Acos2θ + Bcos2θ + C = 0

⇒ A (2cos2θ – 1) + Bcos2θ + C = 0

⇒ (2A + B) cos2θ + (C – A) = 0 (1)

Since, equation (1) is satisfied for all θ,

∴ 2A + B = 0 and C – A = 0 ( cos2θ ε [0, 1])

⇒ B = –2A and A = C

There are infinite may solutions which satisfied the equations A = C and B = –2A.

Hence, there are infinite solutions of the triplet (A, B, C).
