it is because the plants in high temperature with broad leaves are likely to die quickly because of their broad leaves
the reason behind it is evaporation is faster where they is broad space so the water in the plants get evaporated every quickly resulting the plants to die

(a)The Polar region is characterised by extremely cold weather. The animals found in this region have thick fur and thick skin to protect themselves from the cold climatic conditions.
(b)Fish use their gills to take oxygen from the water that they live in. But people get the oxygen we need by breathing air, using our lungs. Whales and dolphins use their lungs to breathe air also. That's one reasons why they come to the surface of the ocean.
(c) The smaller or fewer leaves a plant has, the less water is lost during transpiration since it has less surface area open to the sun and hence broad leaves are unsuitable for desert habitat.
