Answer:

2.47m from base of wall (2 decimal places)

Step-by-step explanation:

the angle of inclination is the interior angle of the ladder against the wall.

Using SOH CAH TOA, we find that to discover the length from the wall to the base of the ladder we need to use CAH, or cosine, \frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse}

then, just write the equation,

cos(72) = \frac{x}{8}

simplified,

8 x cos (72) = x\\

:. x = 2.47m from base of wall (2 decimal places)

From image we can see That :-

→ AC = Length of ladder = 8m . = Hypotenuse

→ Angle ACB = 72°

→ BC = Distance of Ladder From Base = ?

Solution :-

we know That, Cos@ = (Base/Hypotenuse) .

So,

cos72° = BC/AC

→ cos72° = BC/8

→ BC = (cos72° * 8 )

→ BC = (0.309 * 8)

→ BC = 2.47 m. = 2.5m .(To the Nearest Tenth of a metre).

Hence, Distance of Ladder From Base is 2.5m. .

Important :-

→ sin theta = Perpendicular/Hypotenuse

→ cos theta = Base/Hypotenuse

→ tan theta = Perpendicular/Base

→ cosec theta = Hypotenuse/Perpendicular

→ sec theta = Hypotenuse/Base

= cot theta = Base/Perpendicular...
