The saints in Maharashtra did not believe in ritualism and caste system. They even did not believe in the idea that world should be renounced in order to gain salvation

Maharshtra is the state which was the birthplace of many popular saints. Some of the saints were saint tukaram, saint bahinabai, saint dyaneshwar and many more. The main teaching of the saints of maharshtra were the equality among all and no discrimination and inequality. Many people were influenced by the saints like artisians, peasants etc. Those people helped saints to spread their teaching. Saints didn't believe in caste system. They believe in god and equality among all without any caste and group of people based on caste, group, etc.

Saints said that that their is only one God and we all are equal to them. Some saints were participated in the bhakti movement. There were some movements in which the saints teach the people many things about life, equality and many others. Saints were known as God that time. Saints had belief in God and also belief in bhakti.
