Explanation:

1)i The core function of the human stomach is as an aid to diges- tion. The four key components of gastric digestive function are its function as a reservoir, acid secretion, enzyme secre- tion and its role in gastrointestinal motility.

ii) The gallbladder is a small pouch that sits just under the liver. The gallbladder stores bile produced by the liver. After meals, the gallbladder is empty and flat, like a deflated balloon. Before a meal, the gallbladder may be full of bile and about the size of a small pear.

iii) The pancreas is an organ located in the abdomen. It plays an essential role in converting the food we eat into fuel for the body's cells. The pancreas has two main functions: an exocrine function that helps in digestion and an endocrine function that regulates blood sugar.

2)Pepsin

Pepsin is a stomach enzyme that serves to digest proteins found in ingested food. Gastric chief cells secrete pepsin as an inactive zymogen called pepsinogen

3)Glands contributing digestive juices include the salivary glands, the gastric glands in the stomach lining, the pancreas, and the liver and its adjuncts—the gallbladder and bile ducts.

4)Assimilation is the movement of digested food molecules into the cells of the body where they are used. For example: glucose is used in respiration to provide energy. amino acids are used to build new proteins.
