Answer:

3:7

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the person's age be "a" & his mother's age be "b".

Ten years ago, person's age = a-10 ;  Mother'sage = b-10

According to question, 3(a-10) = b-10 ⇒ 3a - b = 20 -------------(1)

Ten years hence, person's age = a+10 ;  Mother's age = b+10

According to question, 2(a+10) = b+10 ⇒ 2a - b = -10 ------------(2)

Subtract, (1) - (2), 3a- 2a - b + b = 20 + 10 ⇒ a = 30

In (1), 3(30)-b = 20 ⇒ 90-20 = b ⇒ b = 70

So, ratio of their ages = 30 : 70 = 3:7

Hope this helps.....
