Bal Gangadhar Tilak was an Indian nationalist, social reformer and an independence activist was one of the prime architect of modern India and strongest advocate of Swaraj. He was a great reformer and throughout his life he emphasized on the concepts of women education and women empowerment. He introduced two newspapers called ‘Mahratta’ (English) and ‘Kesari’ (Marathi) to create awareness about British policies, his ideas of nationalism and need of Swaraj. He strongly opposed the Gandhi’s policy of nonviolence and Satyagraha and advocated the use of force where necessary that’s why British colonial authorities called him “Father of the Indian unrest.”
