What do you mean by single citizenship

Single citizenship means being a citizen of only one country. It is the status of being recognized by the law or custom of a state (country) the gives the person the rights and duties of citizenship.  The rights can be right to vote, speak, live, own property etc.
Dual citizenship or multiple citizenship means a person is recognized concurrently as citizen by multiple countries, under the law of their states.
Single citizenship means being recognized as a citizen by one country only.

Single Citizenship in India means that a person is a citizen of India and not of the respective States.
