Given,

2x + 3y = 11

and xy = 8

2x+3y = 11

Squaring both sides we get,

(2x+3y)² = 11²

=> (2x)²+(3y)² + 2×2x×3y = 121

=>4x² + 9y² + 12xy = 121

=>4x² + 9y² + 12×8 = 121 {given}

=>4x² + 9y² + 96 = 121

=>4x²+9y² = 121-96

4x²+9y² = 25

Cheers!
