First find the area of the wall, then find the area of the blackboard and subtract the area of blackboard from that of wall.

Area of wall = l×b

= 14×10

= 140 m²

Area of blackboard = l×b

= 3×1.2

= 3.6 m²

Area which is without the blackboard = area of wall - area of blackboard = 140m²- 3.6m²

= 136.4m²
