We know the dicrimant is given by

Hey
here is your answer

____________

first arrange in the form of ax2 + bx + c = 0

so ----》5x2 + 2x - 1 = 0

now using formula
discriminant = b2 - 4ac

and in the question

b = 2 and a = 5 while c= -1

so answer -------

(2)2 -4 (5 * -1)

4 + 20

24

so answer is 24
