 Her first book, a collection of poems, titled 'The Golden Threshold' was published in 1905. In 1925, she was elected as the first Indian womanPresident of the Indian National Congress Party. Sarojini Naidu was the first woman Governor of Uttar Pradesh.
She is also known as the "Iron Lady" or "Mengoubi" ("the fair one") is a civil rights activist, political activist, and poet from the Indian state of Manipur.
