in the triangle ab =√(16^2+12^2)
so ab=20
so the radius is 20÷2=10cm
area of semi circle is (πr^2)÷2=3.142×10×10÷2=314.2cm^2÷2
the area of ∆=bh/2=12×16÷2=96
so subtract i.e. area of circle - area of ∆
=(314.2÷2 - 96)cm^2
=(157.1 - 96 )cm^2
61.1 cm^2

sagacity: Area of semicircle is 157.14 cm square as the formula is (πr^2)/2
