Q : 1:Without plotting the graph find whether point (2,3)lies on the line represented by 2x+3y=13 .
Ans: 1 :
If (2,3) lies on the line represented by
2x+3y=13 , then it does satisfy the equation.

LHS = 2(2) + 3(3)
= 13
RHS =13
=> LHS = RHS
=> It does satisfy the equation and lie on it.

Q : 2 Without plotting graph, state which of the following will represent lines -
(1) Passing through origin
=> If line passes through origin, then it satisfy
(0,0)
Lines which does this are :
=> x + 3y =0
x + y = 0
x = y

(2) Parallel to x - axis :
=> If line is parallel to x - axis, then for all values of x, it has same "y".
=> Like :
y = -4

(3) Parallel to Y-axis axis
=>Like
x =7/2
x + 2 = 0

(4) Equally inclined with axes :
=> x + y = 0
Slope = -1
x = y
Slope = 1
=> They make equal angles 45° with axes.

Q: 3 The graph of 2x = y + k passes through (3,4). Find the value of k.
Ans:3
It passes through (3,4) then it also satisfies.
=> 2(3) = 4 + k
=> k = 2

Q : 4 The point (2,3) lies on the line represented by x + my = 8 . Find the value of m without plotting the graph.
Ans:4 If (2,3) lies on the line represented by
x + my =8 , then it also satisfy
2 + m(3)= 8
=> m. = 2

Q :5 Find the area of the formed by the line
4y - 12 + 3x = 0 .
Ans:5 : 4y - 12 + 3x = 0
x = 0

4y - 12 + 3x = 0
x = 0
( 0,3 ) satisfy these.
Then, y = 0
we get (4,0)
Other as (0,0)
Just look at graph.
