Q : 1:Without plotting the graph find whether point (2,3)lies on the line represented by 2x+3y=13 .
Ans: 1 :
If (2,3) lies on the line represented by
2x+3y=13 , then it does satisfy the equation.
LHS = 2(2) + 3(3)
= 13
RHS =13
=> LHS = RHS
=> It does satisfy the equation and lie on it.
Q : 2 Without plotting graph, state which of the following will represent lines -
(1) Passing through origin
=> If line passes through origin, then it satisfy
(0,0)
Lines which does this are :
=> x + 3y =0
x + y = 0
x = y
(2) Parallel to x - axis :
=> If line is parallel to x - axis, then for all values of x, it has same "y".
=> Like :
y = -4
(3) Parallel to Y-axis axis
=>Like
x =7/2
x + 2 = 0
(4) Equally inclined with axes :
