Answer:let the ratio m1:m2 be k is to 1

Then, 2 in P(x,2) by section formula becomes 2 =(k×-3+1×5)÷k+1

                2 =(-3k+5)÷k+1

Crossing 2 and k+1,

                        2k+2= -3k+5

                      2k+3k=5-2

                            5k=3

Therefore            k:1=3:5

Therefore  ratio m1:m2=3:5

                            x= (3×4+5×12)÷3+5

                            x=(12+60)÷8

                            x=72÷8

Therefore            x=9
